Advisory Committees

PCC (Paratransit Coordinating Council)

The Marin Paratransit Coordinating Council advises on the need and availability of transportation services for Marin’s disabled and senior residents. The PCC includes senior and disabled consumers of paratransit services, as well as paratransit providers and disability advocacy groups. Please contact Marin Transit at 415.226.0855 for information on the next scheduled meeting.

ACA (Advisory Committee on Accessibility)

The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District’s Advisory Committee on Accessibility (ACA) was organized in 1979 to advise the District Board of Directors on transportation issues pertaining to seniors and persons with disabilities. ACA meets monthly and forwards its recommendations to the Board of Directors. The dedicated members of ACA also attend meetings of the District Board and its committees to testify on relevant issues. In recent years, the Committee has worked actively to assist the District with responding to the ADA, including establishment and ongoing review of the District’s intercounty paratransit services.

Housing and Transportation (Commission on Aging)

A Standing Committee of the Marin County Commission on Aging is active in advocating for well planned, conveniently located and affordable senior housing in Marin. The committee is involved in planning for the transportation needs of older adults, especially as the Baby Boomers age and more and more older adults give up driving automobiles.

Marin Mobility Consortium

The Marin Mobility Consortium is a collaboration of community stakeholders and advocates meeting regularly to advise on the development and evaluation of Marin Access’ services and to discover new ways to coordinate transportation options.
